Protecting the Grass

You and your dog will enjoy the run more if you help us keep the grass clean and healthy.

Parking: Please park on the block paving within the run you have booked. Do not park or drive on the grass.

Pathways: Please use the pathways at all times during frosty or wet weather.  Staying on the paths other than for retrieving toys, training or picking up poo keeps the grass at its best for your dog.

Play: Please prevent your dog from digging, supervise children, and do not climb the fencing. Digging and scraping are not allowed. You can use all the space within the fenced area you have booked, but only within that run. You can bring any toys, balls or other training equipment you may need. If any items are thrown over a fence, please wait until your session has ended to retrieve them.

Poo: We know from experience that most dogs will need to go within the first 5 minutes of their play, so please be vigilant from the start of your session. Please pick up after your dog. We empty bins daily, and spare poo bags are available within each parking area. If it’s a messy one, please pick up what you can and then use the watering cans provided to do the rest. There is a tap at the front of the barn, or you can message us on  07976 724 501. for a refill.

Your Dogs Health

Please ensure your dog is micro-chipped – it’s the law. For their safety, they should be wormed and have valid, up-to-date vaccinations. Kennel cough vaccination is optional.

Your dog is welcome if she is in season – it’s one of the reasons we opened DIY Play! Please ensure you understand the risks of bringing any other dogs.

Being on Time

Please respect other dog owners’ time and be ready to enter and leave on time. No one wants impatient dogs waiting in their cars.

Your booking email will confirm if you have booked the orange or yellow run. Both runs are are clearly marked on their gates. They are both the same size, and both have 4m wide double gates which will be open if the run is unoccupied. If you arrive on time and your run is not vacant, please double-check that you are at the correct run. Call us on 07976 724 501. if there is any problem.

The Orange Run is the first run, with the parking bay to the right of the green barn.

The Yellow Run and parking bay are to the left of the green barn.

Each booking is for 1 car, up to 3 dogs, and up to 4 people. There is no additional parking on or off-site, so please don’t bring extra cars, people or dogs, as you will not be allowed to stay on site.

When the run is vacant, pull your car into the space and close the gates. If it’s dark, please turn on the lights for your run. The switch is on the Field Rules board where you park your car. Once the double gates are closed, you are allowed to let your dog out.

At the end of your session, please be ready to have your dog loaded back into your vehicle. Please remember to turn the lights off and leave the gates open by the end of your booked time slot to let the next customer enter safely and on time.

We operate CCTV in the area and will ensure that only customers who follow our guidelines can make future bookings. If customers fail to leave on time, we will suspend their booking account for a week. Repeat offenders will not be able to return to DIY Dogs Play.

Reporting an Issue

Each run is checked at the start and at the end of each day, along with random in-person and CCTV spot-checks.

If you see anything that concerns you at any time, including fencing, gates, flags, holes, etc., please call or text us immediately on 07976 724 501.

We don’t expect anybody to pick up anything that wasn’t done by their dog. If you find any mess or digging that isn’t from your dog, please flag it for us. Simply place a flag next to the offending area, and text or contact us. There are flags along each run’s perimeter fence.

We will do our best to come and sort it straight away. If we are unable to, we will move you to the other run if available or discuss options.

We operate CCTV in the area to ensure that customers are following our guidelines. If it’s a genuine accident, it’s no problem. We have all missed the odd one! Repeat offenders will not be able to return to DIY Dogs Play.
